Registration

Why register ?
The registration gives you access to our parimutuel service on French and international horse races. Registering enables you to create a secure account; you will be the only person allowed to access it.

Will it change my way of using ZEturf?
No, it won’t change anything. The homepage will remain the same. You can continue using ZEturf without changing any of your habits. The betting service will be added to the existing site without any modification in its content.
In order to optimize the users’ comfort, advertising won't appear once you are logged in.

How do I register?
First, you have to fill in the registration form and deposit a first payment of €15 minimum. You are then ready to bet.
Your account will automatically be credited with a €30 bonus.

How do I choose my user name?
You will log in ZEturf with your user name.
Choose a user name you are sure to remember.
Your user name must be composed of at least 6 characters:
Ex: martin42, Verena B, JuanSarto…

How do I choose my password?
Your password is strictly confidential and must not be communicated to any third person.
It must be composed of between 6 and 16 characters.
For it to be secured, it must be composed of at least 1 figure and at least 1 letter.
The level of inviolability of your account mainly depends on the level of complexity of your password. We strongly recommend that you do not use a name or an existing word in any language. Nevertheless, you can include capital letters and signs such as:
«( !<… ».

Why do I have to provide personal data when registering?

How do I become a client?
After your registration validated and your first payment deposited, you can start betting with ZEturf. We will be happy to offer you a bonus of 30€ after this first deposit.

How is my data protected? The protection of your data is a key element of our security policy.
We use the latest technological innovations to ensure a maximum level of security (Firewall, SSL).
Our banking transactions are provided by Barclays Bank, one of the most prestigious European banks.
We commit ourselves never to giving to a third party (for commercial purposes) any of your personal details.

Your account

What can I do once I have opened my ZEturf account?
Your ZEturf account enables you to have access to the betting interface.
You will be able:
- To make deposits (see: "How to place a bet on ZEturf?")
- To place bets (see: "How to make deposits?")
- To see your ongoing bets (and modify or cancel them up to 10 minutes before the official start).
- To see the history of your bets
- To ask for withdrawals (see "How to make withdrawals?")
- To modify some of your personal data (see "How to modify my personal data?")
- To modify the list of emails you want to receive
- To access a range of services (bonuses, the betting guidebook, more information, reponsible gambling)

How can I access my ZEturf account?
If you have already opened a ZEturf account, you can access it by entering your user name and your password in the log in area (in the top right part of our home page) and by clicking on "Log in".

What can I do if I have forgotten my user name and/or my password?
Click on "Password/User name forgotten" in the log in area (in the top right part of our home page), or on the link "password forgotten".

If you forgot your user name, you will be asked to fill in your e-mail address and your password. We will send you a reminder e-mail with your user name.

If you forgot your password, you will be asked to fill in your user name and your e-mail address. We will send you an e-mail with a new password.

If you forgot your user name and your password, please contact our custumer care service by e-mail providing them with:
- Your surname
-Your first name
-Your date of birth
-Your address
- Your e-mail address
Our customer care team will contact you the soonest possible to explain you the process to follow.

How to make deposits?
Click on the Deposit/Withdrawal link (in the upper part of the home page).
After selecting your deposit method, please fill in the necessary information (which can be different according to the deposit method), then click on "confirm your payment"). If you make a deposit by credit card, after you bank agrees, your deposit is immediately available on your ZEturf account.

How to make withdrawals ?
Click on the Deposit/Withdrawal link (in the upper part of the home page), then click on « Withdrawal ».
After selecting your withdrawal method, please fill in the necessary information (it can be different according to the withdrawal method) and then click on "confirm your withdrawal". If you make a withdrawal by credit card, once our process of checking is completed, your deposit is immediately credited to your bank account.

How do I modify my personal data?
Click on "Your profile" in the upper part of the home page. You will see your personal information and if necessary, you will be able to modifiy the one that are not in grey. To save your changes, it is necessary that you type and validate your password.

Why can't I change some of my personal data?
Some of your personal information is not modifiable on line in order to increase your security. If you want to modify your personal data, please contact our customer care service.

 

How to bet

How to bet on ZEturf ?

After logging in ZEturf, you will be offered various ways of betting (shown by a "B" in the icons of the menu):

Cards and tips and Quintés +
After selecting a meeting and a race, you can access the list of runners (with all the information you need).

You can place a bet in four stages:

1- Select on the top right part of your screen the type of bet you wish to place (Single, Forecast, Trifecta box).
2- Choose your bet (Select the horses or the combinations by ticking the corresponding box )
3- Click on the button "Add to your selection". You can create a selection of as many bets as you wish before moving on to the next step.
4- You can see your selection in the bottom part of the left of your screen. Cancel a bet by clicking on X or click on the button  "Validate" to go to the following step.
You will access a new page where you will be able to see your selection. Fill in your ticket while indicating your stake for each bet - respecting the maximum stake -, then validate your ticket by clicking on "Confirm". Your bets are immediately processed. After being accepted, they appear in "Bets in progress".

There are three different types of bets on Zeturf:

"Single": You can pick one or several horses, on the same selection, by betting either "Single - Win" or "Single - Show" or "Win" and "Show".
"Forecast": You can bet on combinations, within the same selection, by betting "Reverse Forecast" and/or "Placed Dual Forecast". You can also bet by selecting a base, on which you can add one or several horses as a combination.
"Trifecta Box": You can choose to make combined or reduced selections by choosing one or two basis and adding combined horses.
"ZE4": You can choose to make combined, reduced selections, or to bet selecting one, two or three basis adding combined horses.
"ZEcouillon": Within the same selection, you can choose one or more horses by betting "ZEcouillon".

Quick bets
With this service, you can bet immediately, if you already know your selection.
1- "Select the meeting, the race and the bet type"
2- "Select your horses"
3- "Add to your selection"
4- "Check your selection, then "validate"
Fill your ticket and "confirm" it. Once your bet is accepted, you can see it (and cancel it up to 10 minutes before the beginning of the race) from "Ongoing bets".

Odds
If, after seeing the odds of a horse, you would like to bet on it, click on the button "Bet" before its name. You will immediately see the page "Cards and tips". The meeting, the race, the type of bet (Single - Win by default), and your horse will be automatically selected. You will just have to "add" it to your selection (you can also complete or modify it) and then "validate". You will then be able to fill in your ticket and "confirm" your bet.

Paddock tips
If you want to bet on a horse in the "Paddock tips", click on "Bet on this horse" before its name. You will immediately see the page "Cards and tips". The meeting, the race, the type of bet (Single - Win by default), and your horse will be automatically selected. You will just have to "add" it to your selection (you can also complete or modify it) and then "validate". You will then be able to fill in your ticket and "confirm" your bet.

Latest news
If you want to bet on a horse in the "Latest news", click on "Bet on this horse" before its name. You will immediately see the page "Cards and tips". The meeting, the race, the type of bet (Single - Win by default), and your horse will be automatically selected. You will just have to "add" it to your selection (you can also complete or modify it) and then "validate". You will then be able to fill in your ticket and "confirm" your bet.

How are my bets protected on ZEturf?
A method taken from banking techniques enables us to ensure that when you place a bet and that it is accepted by ZEturf, nobody can neither substitute for you nor misappropriate your winnings.

 

Which types of bets are available on ZEturf?

A) Single

Single - Win: Find the winner of the race.

Single - Show: You win if your horse finishes either first, second or third of the race (for races with at least 8 runners), or either first or second of the race (for races with less than 8 runners).
3 ways to bet: Win or Show or Win/Show

When?: Everyday, on every race.

Stake: The minimum stake is 1€

Examples:

Your selection: 12 to Win
Result: 12-5-7
You selected the first of the race
You earn the winnings of the Single - Win bet.

Your selection: 7 to Show
Result: 12-5-7
You selected one of the three first of the race.
You earn the winnings of the Single - Show 7.

Your selection: 12 Win/Show
Result: 12-5-7
You selected the winner of the race, that is within the three first of the race.
You earn the winnings of the Single - Win 12 and of the Single - Show 12.

B) Forecast

Placed Dual Forecast: You choose two of the three first horses (first-second, first-third, second-third).

3 ways to place a bet: Reverse or Placed or Reverse/Placed

Straight Forecast:  You choose two horses in the race to finish first and second in the correct order.
As a rule, you can bet Straight Forecast for the races with less than 8 runners.

Examples:

C) Trifecta Box

You win if the horses you selected finish first, second and third, in either order.

Examples:

Your selection: 12-5-7
Result: 12-5-7
You selected the first three of the race.
You earn the Trifecta Box winnings.

Your selection: 5-7-12
Result: 12-5-7
You selected the first three of the race.
You earn the Trifecta Box winnings.

If a race has between 4 and 7 starters:
You have selected 6-2 in order – Results: 6-2-1
You have bet on the first 2 of the race in order.
You won the first Two in order ratio.

D) ZE 4th

It is a Single - Win bet on the 4th of the race.

Minimum stake: 1€

When?: Everyday for several races.

Examples:

Your selection: 4
Result: 12-5-7-4
You selected the 4th of the race.
You earn the ZE 4th winnings for this horse.

E) ZE 4

You win if you selected the horses that finish first, second, third and fourth in either order.

Minimum stake: 1€

When?: Everyday for several races.

Examples: 

Your selection: 12-5-7-8
Result: 12-5-7-8
You selected the four first of the race.
You earn the ZE 4 winnings.

Your selection: 8-5-7-12
Result: 12-5-7-8
You selected the four first of the race.
You earn the ZE 4 winnings.

F) ZE 5X

ZEturf chooses the meeting(s) of the day (one bet by meeting)

The gambler, in the selected meeting, chooses:

1. Five races

2. The horses in every selected race

The winnings, (the amount of the stakes) * Distribution Rate (set by ZEturf) is shared between the gamblers who have found the five winning horses in the selected meeting.

The bet is open as long as there are 5 remaining races in the selected meeting card. The bets can only be placed on the races that have not started.

The winnings are paid when the winnings of the last meeting are paid.

 

What are probable odds?
The probable odds enable to estimate the chances of victory and the winnings than can be expected from each horse for a “Single - Win” bet. The more punters there are betting on a horse, the lower the probable odds are, and the smaller the amount of money to earn. Conversely, the less a horse is being bet on, the higher the probable odds are, and the bigger the probable winnings are.

What is the minimum stake? What is the maximum stake?
The minimal stake is 1 Euro for every bet.
The maximum stake depends on the type of race and the types of bet. It is shown when you validate your selection.

When can I place a bet?
You can place a bet until the bets are closed, when the bell rings on the racecourse, i.e. a few seconds before the beginning of the race.
In case of a false start, ZEturf opens the bets again until the bell rings again.

Is it possible to modify or cancel a bet?
It is indeed possible to modify or cancel a validated bet up to 10 minutes before the official start of the race. You have to go in your "ongoing bets" and to click on "modify" or "cancel".

 

Rules and results of the races

Which types of races can I bet on with ZEturf ?
On ZEturf, you can bet on many of the French and international horse races.

Why are ZEturf winnings generally better than the competitors' ones?
ZEturf winnings are generally and statistically better because ZEturf redistributes up to 98% of the stakes. When you win on ZEturf, you thus earn more money than with our competitors (except in particular cases).
The winnings are not systematically better as ZEturf’s distribution of the stakes by horse may differ from that of its competitors and winnings may therefore differ.

Is there a conflict of interest offering both tips and a betting service?
Thanks to the parimutuel system, ZEturf does not play against the punters (unlike the fixed odds system). Zeturf offers users the possibility to play with each other. Therefore, it is not in Zeturf interest to see you loose your bet (not as a bookmakers). That is why we offer quality information, in order to optimize your winning chances and to make you satisfied.

What happens if the horse I bet on is a non-runner?
If the horse you bet on is a non-runner, the bet on this horse is cancelled.
- For a "Single" bet (Win or Show) the bet is fully cancelled and your stake is recredited to your account.
- For a "Reverse Forecast" bet, if one of the selected horses is a non-runner, ZEturf will carry the combinations over to "Single - Win" for the horse that runs. If you win, the winnings will be the ones of "Single - Win".
- For a "Placed Dual Forecast" bet, if one of the selected horses is a non-runner, ZEturf will carry the combinations over to "Single - Show" for the horse that runs. If you win, the winnings will be the same as "Single - Show".
- For a "Trifecta Box", ZEturf carries the combinations over to "Reverse Forecast" (1 horse selected does not run) or over "Single - Win" (2 selected horses do not run).

What happens if the race is cancelled or postponed ?
In case the race is cancelled, all bets made on this race are refunded. If a race is delayed or postponed to another date, it is considered as a cancelled race. All bets made on this race are refunded.
In case of exceptional incidents (the starting stall of one of the competitors did not open...), all types of bets made on this race are refunded.

What happens in case of disqualification after the race?
The official result is the final order of finish as published on the racecourse. Late disqualifications do not modify in any case the winnings for this order of finish.

What happens in case of a dead heat?
"Win" bets (Single - Win, Reverse Forecast) on all the horses placed first get paid with Single - Win or Reverse Forecast winnings.
"Show" bets (Single - Show or Placed Dual Forecast) on horses placed first and second (in the races with less than eight horses) and Show bets on horses placed first, second and third (in the races with eight horses and more) get paid with Single - Show or Placed Dual Forecast winnings.
All the combinations on horses arrived (in both or three first according to the cases) are paid.

How to calculate the winnings in case of a dead heat?
ZEturf would like to thank Amarnis for this clear explanation.

The aim is to give the simplest explanation of the calculation of the winnings in case of a dead heat. The example will be taken from a real and recent race: Prix du Bourbonnais of December 10th, 2005.
That day, the photo finish did not enable to decide between Mara Bourbon (13) and Super Lignt (6).
This case will be studied for both the PMU and ZEturf, as the same principle applies.
This principle would also apply if there was three or four dead heats, by extrapolating it.

Here are some things that can be heard about the calculation of this type of winnings:
- "they will pay the last odds" (more exactly the last winnings) for both horses!
- "they will pay half the last odds"!
- ...

First, we have to remember that we are talking about parimutuel bets: there is no creation of money, the money of the stakes is distributed after deducting the charges, the taxes...

The principle is simple: the calculation is the same as for "show" bets winnings: the distribution of the stakes, the winning bets (here there are two: the 13 and the 6), and their respective proportions are known. However, contrary to the "show" bets, the distribution of the stakes is displayed: it is directly linked to the odds. Here are the final winnings, the last ones displayed:

PMU => 1: 100 ; 2: 4.1 ; 3: 69 ; 4: 11 ; 5: 100 ; 6: 8.5 ; 7: 5.4 ; 8: 24 ; 9: 100 ; 10: 77 ; 11: 43 ; 12: 43 ; 13: 30 ; 14: 48 ; 15: 59 ; 16: 100 ; 17: 36 ; 18: 9.5 ; 19: 29 ; 20: 5.3. That means a redistribution rate of 81.9% (if 1 000 euros are bet, 819 euros will be redistributed to the punters).

ZEturf => 1: 86.7 ; 2: 3.6 ; 3: 218.3 ; 4: 9.8 ; 5: 263.8 ; 6: 13.8 ; 7: 5 ; 8: 26.7 ; 9: 300 ; 10: 77 ; 11: 226.1 ; 12: 73.6 ; 13: 56.5 ; 14: 162.3 ; 15 : 287.8 ; 16: 300 ; 17: 68 ; 18: 12.9 ; 19: 34.6 ; 20: 5.5. That means a redistribution rate of 93.6% (if 1 000 euros are bet, 936 euros will be redistributed to the punters). 

If the 7 (Lady d'Auvrecy) had won the race:
- With ZEturf, its final winnings are 5. The winners would have earned 5 euros for 1 euro bet. In other words, 1/5 (20%) of the stakes win the remaining 80%. For 1 euro bet, the winnings would have been 1 euro (the stake) + 80%/20% euros = 1+4 = 5. So the real value of the odds is 4).

Regarding the case that happened: two horses finished in a dead heat: first, the amount of loosing stakes (the ones that have not bet on the 6 or the 13) has to be calculated, second, it has to be divided by two. Each winner is given back its stake, more half the loosing stakes.
For example, as far as the final winnings of ZEturf are concerned, the loosing stakes are 100% of the stakes after deducting charges and taxes. Then the stakes of the 6: 7.2% (1/13.8) and of the 13: 1.8% (1/56.5) are deducted. The remaining is 100% - 7.2% - 1.8 % =  91%. It is divided by two (45.5%) and distributed according to the respective stakes on the two winning horses.

Therefore, the paid winnings for the 6 are: 1 euro (the stake is given back) + 45.5%/7.2%, that means 1 + 6.27 = 7.27 euros (effectively paid 7.20 euros).
For the 13, the paid winnings are: 1 + 45.5%/1.8% = 1+ 25.7 = 26.70 euros (effectively paid 26.80 euros).

The real calculations are obviously based on amounts of money, not percentages. It explains the very slight imprecisions, on which is added the cents rules (the winnings always are around ten of cents).

For the PMU, the same calculation leads to the following winnings: 5.55 euros for the 6 and 17.04 euros for the 13. The paid winnings respectively are 4.60 euros and 13.70 euros. It is deduced that the winnings changed in the last seconds, which is common (the stakes increased on the 6 and on the 13).

Therefore, we can say that (W is the winnings and PW the paid winnings):
PW(6) = 1 + 1/2 (100% -1/W(6) - 1/W(13))/(1/W(6)) soit PW(6) = 1/2 (1 + (W(6)(W(13)-1)/(W(13))
and the same for PW(13) reversing .

That means that "to calculate the paid winnings of a winning horse in case of a dead heat, the winnings of the other horse placed first has to be taken, then deduced 1 and divided by the winnings just used, and multiplied by the winnings of the horse bet. We add 1 and we divide by 2".

If R(13) is quite high, then (W(13)-1)/W(13) will be close to 1, so W(6) ~ 1/2 (W(6)+1). If W(6) is also quite high, then PW(6) ~ W(6)/2. However, if one of the two horses was one of the favourites of the race, this won't be true (example: with winnings of 1.5, (1.5-1)/1.5 = 1/3)).
